It’s that time of the year… Flowers are blooming and love is in the air. Or friendship, in this case. Star Stable has finally delivered its yearly Valentine’s day content! This time, a charming girl by the name of Lowe has set up a holiday race in Jarlaheim Stables. If you talk to her, she’ll inform you that you must have 1 or more friends in a group to participate in her quest. Once you do this, she will let you race with your buddies.
After completing the race, Lowe will reward you with a Collectible Heart. After earning 3 of these, you are allowed to trade them in for a prize, which is often food. There is a chance, however, that you could get a piece of Valentine’s Day tack.
The track goes around the stables and through the city itself. Overall, it’s a pretty nice race in my opinion! Very festive. The checkpoints have been changed to match the Valentine’s day spirit and now have floating hearts above them instead of arrows and heart balloon poles to guide you. The music is also more upbeat, playing the soundtrack from the horse stylist rather than the intense orchestral one that we’re used to. It takes about 1:30-2:00 overall.
My only real complaint about this track is that one of the checkpoints isn’t placed very well. It’s the one going into Jarlaheim around the corner, which might have been fine if it didn’t have a jump over it, because the turn is incredibly sharp. This means that you have to slow down your horse unless your command is high enough to the point where you don’t have to do so. It’s a minor thing, but I find myself screwing it up more often than not if I forget to slow down.
Another thing that came with the Valentine’s day update is some decorations around many of the world’s cities and the addition of little shops selling festive gear around Jorvik. There are many things to buy, most of it being relatively inexpensive, the cheapest things being 299 Jorvik Shillings. Although they don’t give the greatest stat boosts, a lot of the items actually look quite nice. All of it comes in Valentine’s colors, of course. I gave Foxprince some cute new decorations in celebration of this lovely update.
Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone! ❤
